Website Launch – www.ollyconnelly.com

Guvnr.com couldn’t launch alone, that just wouldn’t do, so I’ve knocked up a simple portal page for my namesake site, ollyconnelly.com.

…The purpose of this site is SEO; marketing. That is to say, when someone googles me, they will find the page, soon, at the top of the search results, with the site itself taking the visitor to whatever they want, whether my building, web or content service sites. The cross-links don’t hurt for SEO either, in building web presence.

The code…

…is very simple. A fully validating one page design, with just my three site links and an email button. OK, so maybe I was a bit hung over when I chose the colors, but more interesting is the use of jQuery – more heavily featured on guvnr.com – to ease usability with simple descriptions popping up for each of the links. Damn, gotta love jQuery…creator John Resig, you web God, thank you for making javascript so simple, logical, fun and code-light, you’ve given geeks the world over their childhood again!
