The Guv's Building Site - www.ollythebuilder.com

Website launch - www.ollythebuilder.com

They say things happen in three's, so to keep up with tradition I'm launching three sites this week. As well as Guvnr.com and a namesake portal, ollyconnelly.com, I've scrubbed up my old building services site. In fact, I've fairly thrown the kitchen sink at it, css-stylee.

CSS-rich features

To showcase the building services I mess about with when I'm sick of this keyboard (and need the exercise), there's a snazzy, hoverbox-like image gallery, utilising pure CSS and ultra fast-loading piccies so that visitors can see clearly what I do, quickly and enjoyably. This works on all modern web browsers, including Microsoft's browser-from-hell, ie6 (someone hand me that machine gun...) And in keeping with my brain, ie simple, I've built a one-layer navigation for ultimate usability. If that's all Greek, it's easy to surf, and your machine won't hesitate.

Automated feedback & bi-lingual editions utilising MODx

Complete with a slick automated contact form, and mounted on the brilliant php-based MODx content management system to accomodate bi-lingual, Spanish-English versions, it validates to the highest web standards available. (OK, the opacity changes don't validate, but that's because they're more advanced than the ruleset, so aren't yet recognised, er, so there ;) )

Thanks go to hoverboy-wonder Nathan Smith and CSS sultan Stu Nichols for inspiring me to crack out a gallery like this, and to all the crew at MODx whose content management platform never ceases to buzz my bally balloon. Well, something like that.

You can check out some screenshots here but, hey, just check out the site.
